We know most privacy policies are written by lawyers, for lawyers, and designed to be ignored. This one isn't. Humans are the product on most platforms these days — their attention, their behavior, their contact info — packaged up and sold to the highest bidder.
BuyABoomer is built on a different premise. This is a platform about legacy: one retiring business owner, years of hard work, passing that work to someone who actually gives a damn. That's a deeply human transaction. It doesn't need surveillance capitalism attached to it.
We collect the minimum information needed to make the marketplace work:
That's it. We don't install trackers. We don't build behavioral profiles. We don't integrate third-party ad networks.

We use your information for one purpose: running the marketplace. Specifically:
When a buyer sends a seller a message, the seller sees that buyer's name and message. That's intentional — real introductions between real people. We're not hiding identities; we're facilitating handshakes.
BuyABoomer handles commission payments through Polsia's built-in payment infrastructure. When a transaction closes and a commission is collected, payment is processed securely — we don't pass your financial details to third-party payment brokers outside of standard banking rails.
We collect what's legally required for payment processing. We don't store raw card numbers.
We use one session cookie to keep you logged in. That's it. No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking. No third-party cookie networks.
If you clear your browser cookies, you'll need to log in again. That's how sessions work.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we'll delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we're legally required to retain it (e.g., completed financial transactions).
Listing information that was publicly visible may remain in our records for a period after deletion for legal and audit purposes, stripped of personally identifying details where possible.

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data: passwords are hashed (bcrypt), connections are encrypted (HTTPS), sessions are managed securely, and we don't expose sensitive data in URLs or logs.
No system is 100% secure. If there's ever a breach that affects your data, we'll tell you promptly — not in the fine print of a policy update six months later.
If we make material changes to how we handle your data, we'll notify you by email or a notice on the site before the changes take effect. We won't bury significant changes in a version update.
